Sometimes it happens
suddenly: An accident, a heart attack, a stroke! Sometimes it is the
gradual process of aging, dementia, depression, or declining health.
The result is often the same. When an elderly parent is no longer
self-sufficient but can't recognize it, it is often the adult child
who must step in and take the necessary action to bring about
change. In some instances, the parent may object vociferously and
resist help. This is when parent needs parenting.
